Epsom Rowing Club encourages a high level of independence.  Rowers will:

• demonstrate a positive attitude, courage, commitment, accountability, teamwork and full engagement in the sport;

• strive for continuous improvement taking ownership of their progress;

• challenge themselves physically and mentally with the support of their peers and coaches;

• liaise directly with coaching staff for feedback or to address issues.

Rowers are highly accountable to their team: commitment to and understanding of team-mates is one of the key success factors.  Rowing provides significant returns to its participants beyond the obvious benefits of regular physical activity. The commitment, teamwork and peer relationships developed through the intensive training and race schedule generate benefits in rowers’ wider school life and beyond.
