Rowers News Update #23 KR1 run sheet

Update #23 :: KR1 run sheet
10 December 2015

KR1

Here is the KR1 Run Sheet for the coming weekend at Lake Karapiro.

This week's regatta will be a learning experience for all of us as many of our team are new and have not been to Karapiro before now.
Our experienced rowers will find that this is a new season and will take time to adjust to the intensity of older more experienced competitive age groups so it will be very interesting to see how we progress towards Sunday during the heats racing.

Since our great start at Mercer we have had several personal best performances in the erg room this week and now look forward to improving our times on the water over this coming weekend in each race.

The team takes a break after this regatta until our camp at Epworth starting on 4 January. The training schedule for the holidays will be posted on our Facebook training page on Monday. The training schedule for after camp will be posted once we know how to best make the most of our time before school starts in 2016.

On behalf of all of us, many thanks for all of your hard work and support this season. Have a great holiday and we look forward to everyone reuniting at camp to make the 2015-16 season a memorable one!

See you on the weekend.

Regards
Paul

Successful rowing scholarship

Congratulations to Hannah Worth who has been successful in gaining a three year rowing scholarship with Michigan State University (MSU). See the press release.

A rowing scholarship provides an amazing opportunity for girls to continue rowing after high school, experience life in another country and have their university fees paid in the process. Hannah has offered to share her advice regarding the application process, which can be quite challenging. She may also be able to put in a good word with her new coach.

Communications role

We are looking for a volunteer to take over the responsibility of communications for the club. Please contact Andrew Millar, president@eggsrowing.co.nz for further details.
